亞蔬—世界蔬菜中心原名「亞洲蔬菜研究發展中心」a.k.a「亞蔬中心」,於1971年5月由我國🇹🇼 美國🇺🇸 日本🇯🇵 韓國🇰🇷 泰國🇹🇭 越南🇻🇳 及菲律賓🇵🇭 7國政府及「亞洲開發銀行」(ADB) 共同設立之國際農業研究機構,1973年10月17日正式開始運作,總部設在台南市善化區。#亞蔬中心 旨在促進高營養價值蔬菜之生產與消費,以消弭開發中國家之貧窮與營養不良問題。亞蔬中心運用我國捐助款項,並配合外交部及農委會需求研提計畫,其工作成果對我農業環境、就業機會、國民營養及季節性價格調整機能等,均具社會效益;另除促成我農政單位與他國農業研究組織建立合作關係外,並與我駐外館處及技術團合作,協助我友邦建立蔬菜培育能力。
Today the #APEC Virtual Ministerial Policy Dialogue on #FoodSecurity took place online. Discussions centered around the impact of the #COVID19 on agriculture and #FoodProduction as well as the populations that have been impacted by this disruption to global food systems. In the statement issued by the meeting, the representatives stated that public-private partnership can help to overcome the challenges we currently face in realizing the #ZeroHunger #SDG goal.
We thought this was the perfect time to highlight the role of the World Vegetable Center (World Veg) in #Taiwan, the world's largest vegetable #SeedBank, aimed at helping people suffering from malnutrition in developing nations. Did you know, for example, that in #Tanzania, one out every two tomatoes in the markets is grown from seeds sourced from the #WorldVeg!

1) Garlic Egg Fried Rice in a Mug
Ingredients:
1. 1 cup Rice, cooked and chilled – 206Cals
*I used brown + white rice.
2. ¼ cup mixed Carrot, Corn & Peas – 30Cals
3. ¼ cup Red Cabbage, shredded – 5Cals
4. 2 tbsps. Red Bell Pepper, diced – 5Cals
Sauce
1. 1 Egg – 63kcal
2. ½ tbsp. Soy Sauce – 8 kcal
3. 1 tsp. Sesame Oil – 40kcal
4. ½ tsp. Garlic Powder – 5 kcal
Total Calories: 362Cals
Steps:
1. Add all ingredients into a mug and microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds.
2. Add eggs, soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic powder in another bowl and stir it evenly.
3. Remove rice from microwave, pour sauce mixture into the mug and mix well.
4. Heat it in the microwave again for another 1 minutes 30 seconds.
5. Garnish with spring onion and ready to serve.
2) Vegan Couscous Salad in a Mug
Ingredients:
1. 1/3 cup Couscous – 59Cals
2. 1/3 cup Vegetable Stock or Water – 5Cals
3. ¼ cup Cucumber, diced – 4Cals
4. ¼ cup Red Bell Pepper, diced – 10Cals
5. ¼ cup Cherry Tomatoes, halved – 7Cals
6. 1 tbsp. Olives, halved – 10Cals
7. 1 tbsp. Spring Onions, chopped – 2Cals
Sauce:
1. 1 tbsp. Lemon Juice – 7Cals
2. 1 tsp. Olive Oil – 40Cals
3. 1 tsp. Maple Syrup – 17Cals
Total Calories: 161Cals
Steps:
1. Heat vegetable stock in microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds.
2. Add couscous and vegetable stock into mug. Cover and leave couscous to soak for 5 minutes.
3. While waiting, mix lemon juice, olive oil and maple syrup in a small bowl.
4. Add cucumber, red bell pepper, tomato, olives, green onion and the sauce into the mug. Mix well and Enjoy!
3) Rice Noodle Salad in a Mug
Ingredients:
1. 3oz (85g) Rice Noodles – 93Cals
2. ¼ cup Carrots, shredded – 13Cals
3. ¼ cup Red Cabbage. shredded – 5Cals
4. ¼ cup Red Bell Pepper, shredded – 10Cals
5. ¼ cup Japanese Cucumber, shredded – 4Cals
Sauce:
1. ½ tbsp. Rice vinegar – 2Cals
2. ½ tbsp. Soy Sauce – 8Cals
3. 1 tsp. Sesame Oil – 40Cals
4. ½ tsp. Sesame Seeds – 8.5Cals
TOTAL = 183.5Cals
Steps:
1. Add rice noodles and water into the mug and microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds.
2. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil and sesame seeds.
3. Strain noodles, add all ingredients and the sauce into the mug. Mix well and enjoy!
4) Black Bean Tomato Rice in a Mug
Ingredients:
1. 1 cup Rice, cooked and chilled – 206Cals
2. 1/3 cup Black Beans, rinsed and drained – 72Cals
3. 1/3 Chopped Tomatoes - 11Cals
4. ¼ cup Cherry tomatoes, halved – 7Cals
5. 1 tbsp. Olives, halved – 10Cals
6. ½ tsp. Smoked Paprika Powder – 10Cals
7. ½ tsp. Garlic Powder – 5Cals
Total Calories: 321Cals
Steps:
1. Add black beans, chopped tomatoes, red bell pepper, smoked paprika powder and garlic powder into the mug, mix well and microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds
2. Add rice and mix evenly.
3. Lastly, topped with cherry tomatoes and olives and serve warm.

How to Make Hello Kitty Bento Lunch Box
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 30-60min (depending on your patience)
Number of servings: 2-3 bento boxes
Ingredients:
((Stuffed Red Peppers))
2 red peppers *30g (1oz.) each
A
* 80g (2.8oz.) ground pork
* 40g (1.4oz.) minced onion
* salt and cracked black pepper
flour
cooking oil
sliced American cheese
Nori sheet
((Vegetable Kinpira with Eggs))

white Kamaboko fish cake
Kanikama (imitation crab meat/crab sticks)
sliced American cheese
spaghetti pasta
((Hello Kitty Onigiri Rice Ball))
cooked white Japanese rice
salt
Nori sheet
red pepper bottom
drained canned whole corn kernels
Directions:
((Stuffed Red Peppers))
1. Put A in a bowl and mix well by hand until all ingredients are combined and smooth.
2. Cut the bottoms off the red peppers to make a ribbon (ribbons) for the Hello Kitty Onigiri Rice Ball.
3. Cut each pepper into 3 rings, remove the seeds, and dust inside of peppers with flour.
4. Stuff the mixture into the peppers.
5. Heat cooking oil in a pan and place the stuffed peppers. When one side is golden brown, flip them over. Cover and steam for about 5 minutes until cooked through. In the same pan, lightly saute the Hello Kitty ribbons, and set aside.
6. Cut the sliced cheese with a toothpick to make apple cores. Cut Nori sheet with eyebrow scissors to make apple seeds.
*I bought leaf-shaped bento toothpicks at "CANDO" 100yen shop.

((Kamaboko Fish Cake House))
1. Slice Kamaboko fish cake and cut into a house shape.
2. Peel off the red part of Kanikama to make the roof, and attach it with bits of spaghetti pasta. (pasta will absorb moisture from Kamaboko and gets soft after few hours, so you can eat it by lunchtime!)
3. Cut sliced cheese to make windows.
((Hello Kitty Onigiri Rice Ball))
1. Put steamed rice in a bowl and mix a pinch of salt to taste. Stuff the rice into the Hello Kitty Onigiri Mold (spread the rice into the crevices of the mold with a small spoon). Place the lid and push the rice down. Remove the lid, then push the rice out from the mold.
2. Use the Hello Kitty Nori Punch to make eyes and whiskers.
3. Place the side dishes and rice in the bento box. Then arrange the small parts with tweezers.
You can also use a plastic wrap to form the Hello Kitty rice ball but it requires a great patience...

Ingredients (8 cakes)
For the fillings
100g peeled split mung bean ( ½ cup)
¼ cup shredded young coconut (optional)
1 tbsp roasted sesame seeds
1 tbsp vegetable oil
3 tbsp sugar
11g vanilla sugar (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
¼ tsp salt
For the dough
1 cup glutinous rice flour "Bot Nep" (or sweet rice flour mochiko) 100g
3 tbsp sugar
¼ tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
½ cup coconut flakes (eg. http://amzn.to/10RAsTM)
** You can buy coconut flakes at Western supermarket under baking section or at Asian Store or online at http://amzn.to/10RAsTM. Shredded young coconut (for the filling) can be found frozen at Asian store. You can buy a rice cooker at http://amzn.to/15YoOgo
You can also use a steamer instead of a microwave.
