A Scene of Heavenly Glory
“For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm, the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them, for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned”; and so fearful was the appearance that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.” But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels, to the festal gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.” (Hebrews 12:18-24 WEB)
Imagine the passage above as a scene in a movie. The person who wrote the epistle to the Hebrews described it most beautifully.
Picture this with me: a mountain on earth burning with fire, shrouded in blackness and darkness, with lightning streaking and thunder booming all around. This is Mount Sinai when the Old Covenant of the Law was given. A trumpet blast sounds and the voice of God gives a severe warning with a threat of death as two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments appears, floating in front of the screen.
Suddenly, the tablets are snatched away as if by a strong magnetic force and balanced upon Jesus’ hands right before the nails are driven into His hands. As the Roman soldiers hammer the nails down, the stone tablets are also attached to Jesus’ hands at the cross, crucified with Him.
Then, the camera pans upwards, zooming past the clouds. You see Mount Zion, the mountain of God in the distance, and the heavenly Jerusalem sitting upon it, radiating gloriously like a priceless jewel. Reaching a huge pearl gate of the city, the gate rolls aside, and myriads of angels fly across like a flocks of migrating birds, singing beautiful songs.
You see the river of the water of life dividing the city into half, with trees of life on its left and right.
The camera follows the river that proceeds from God’s throne, into His sanctuary at the highest point of the city, and you see the Father seated as judge over all, and standing on His right hand is Jesus smiling and His arms outstretched to welcome you with a loving embrace.
The scene ends with a close up on the ark of the covenant in the sanctuary that has the blood of Christ sprinkled upon the mercy seat, and the camera zooms into just one drop of His blood crying out for your blessing, redemption, forgiveness, favor, healing, restoration, and all good things as the credits roll.
Can someone please turn this video idea into reality? I would if I had the skills and funding to do so!

Citizens of the Jerusalem Above!
Passage of the Day:
“His foundation is in the holy mountains. Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. Selah. I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me. Behold, Philistia, Tyre, and also Ethiopia: “This one was born there.” Yes, of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one was born in her”; the Most High himself will establish her. Yahweh will count, when he writes up the peoples, “This one was born there.” Selah.” (Psalms 87:1-6 WEB)
In the psalm above, even the Gentiles (non-Jews) are registered as being born in Jerusalem. It’s talking about the second birth—being born again through the Holy Spirit.
When we were reborn in Him, we became a new creation, registered by God as citizens of the eternal nation of Israel. We were wild olives that God engrafted into the rich olive tree (Romans 11:17).
This is the Israel born of the Spirit and not born of the flesh. God’s holy nation of royal priests which we have become.
What many don’t realize is that the Mount Zion and Jerusalem on earth is patterned after the true Zion and Jerusalem that is in Heaven.
“For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” (Galatians 4:25-26 WEB)
There is a natural city of Jerusalem here on earth now, and there is an eternal city of Jerusalem in Heaven above. The Jerusalem above is the same one that will descend out of Heaven and land on the new earth in the future.
“I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more. I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.” (Revelation 21:1-2 WEB)
As Jesus said, God’s will is for His Kingdom to come, and for earth to be as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10)—a mirror image of perfect peace and glory.
When God chose the site for the first temple to be built, He positioned it to reflect the heavenly reality. It’s a beautiful truth and when you study the Scriptures, you’ll understand that the layout of Heaven is the same as the layout of the Jerusalem on earth.
In my book “A Tour of Heaven and Eternity”, I explain the layout of Heaven and how God has already revealed to us its geographical aspects through His word.
Heaven doesn’t have to remain a mystery to you. Those who take time to read the whole Bible and piece together the layout of Heaven and Jerusalem will understand that the earthly city reflects the heavenly one.
Also, you’ll understand the difference between Paradise, God’s sanctuary on the mountain of God, and the city of New Jerusalem. Check it out: https://www.miltongoh.net/store/p15/a-tour-of-heaven-and-eternity-milton-goh.html

Grace Clothes you, the Law Strips you
“When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man stood in front of him with his sword drawn in his hand. Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our enemies?” He said, “No; but I have come now as commander of Yahweh’s army.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and worshiped, and asked him, “What does my lord say to his servant?” The prince of Yahweh’s army said to Joshua, “Take your shoes off of your feet; for the place on which you stand is holy.” Joshua did so.” (Joshua 5:13-15 WEB)
A “Christophany” refers to an appearance or manifestation of Christ. The passage above is one example. Christ appeared as the commander and prince of God’s army because the children of Israel were about to battle the Canaanites—Christ was essentially saying that He was ready to fight for Israel.
We know that this is not just an angel because Joshua worshipped Him, called Him “my lord” and the Man said that the ground which Joshua stood upon is holy—Joshua was standing in the presence of God.
At that time, the children of Israel were under the dispensation of the Old Covenant of the Law which began at Mount Sinai. Under the Law, God deals with man based on their obedience to the Ten Commandments. If they are not perfect in all their thoughts and ways, then they have to stay away or risk dying if they presumptuously entered God’s presence.
“Yahweh said to Moses, “Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments, and be ready against the third day; for on the third day Yahweh will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai. You shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, ‘Be careful that you don’t go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death. No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it is animal or man, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain.”” (Exodus 19:10-13 WEB)
The Law says take off your shoes—clean yourself first before coming. It strips you, because you are not qualified to freely enter the presence of a holy God.
However, under Grace, there has been a change. In Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son, the Father represents Abba God, our Heavenly Father, while the prodigal son represents us (former) sinners who were saved by Grace through faith.
““But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. Bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat, and celebrate; for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’ They began to celebrate.” (Luke 15:22-24 WEB)
Under Grace, Abba God commands His servants (the angels) to put shoes on our feet. We can freely enter His presence without any fear or hesitation.
You were clothed with righteousness and true holiness the moment you came home to Abba God by placing your faith in Jesus as Lord. You don’t have to earn those shoes. They are your birthright.
God is not mad at you, so draw near to the throne of grace and receive help and mercy in your time of need!
