// vegan curry meal ¥1200 //
I was being taken to this self-sufficient, very original and traditional restaurant - 畑とカリー. They only have one vegan meal. This time I chose this restaurant not because of the food, but its unique style! The decoration outside the restaurant has given people a very "wild" feeling, and it is not like decoration, it seems to be something that the restaurant will use.
Slowly stepping into the restaurant, the dim light and yellow light, coupled with the table and chairs made of wood, the time seems to return back to ancient times. 🤣 There are different ingredients on the front desk, there are vegetables and animal bodies, such as feet. They are especially concerned that the animals used are the ones that the restaurant owner hunted in the mountains; the vegetables were also grown in the fields. Anyway, what the restaurant needs, the owner will make it himself even the oven!
The only vegan dish I ordered was actually what I wanted to have in Japan - curry! It looks like a simple dish, but this curry is very different from what I usually eat. It is not a pre-packaged curry like added a lot of spices or chemistry. Can I describe their curry as "fresh"? 😂 Anyway,my stomach likes it!
This restaurant is full of human warmth. Like the feeling of going to a friend's house, there is a musician came to the shop that day. He is very quite. Although the shop is not big, there are many people. We even play and learn music together. There is also language exchange time! I counted one to ten in Cantonese to them. The musician said kawaii to me, my face turned red immediately. ☺️
The couple are taking good care of us. I was watching one of them busy in cooking, the other is busy greeting us and playing music, it seems like they came out from the Japanese drama! I instantly felt that I was being shoot in a Japanese TV drama with all of them too. What I meant was actually I can feel the feeling of warmth between friends that shown in the Japanese TV drama in here. How lucky I was!
PS I'm a vegan but I was sitting on the buckskin that the owner hunted in the mountain. 😐

Don’t think I am in Japan, here is the Xitou
2016-2017 Episode 25 Xitou Route
The shuttle’s Xitou Route leaves from Taichung and takes about an hour and a half to arrive in Xitou.
Located in Nantou County’s Lugu Township, Xitou is a rugged district, its lowest point around 500 meters above sea level and it’s mountains rising to more than 2000 meters.
Welcome to Sitou nature education area, and we provide variety of trials for visitors to come here to wander around, as soon as you come in here, you'll feel the fresh air here and you'll enjoy it, just like forest bathing
Unlike Taiwan’s forest recreation areas, Xitou is actually a “nature education area” managed by National Taiwan University.
Because of the National Taiwan University this pond is called University Pond. You can’t say you been here unless you taken a photo here.
Under its mission as a nature education area, Xitou forest authorities built a 180-meter-long Skywalk to let visitors observe nature from a different angle.
Im at the highest point of the skywalk. It is 23 meters from the ground. Tell you the truth it is kind scary if you look down.
Mist curls among these fragrant pines, just some of the many rare plants growing inside the park. Just deeply breathing in all the wonderful forest smells here is an experience like no other.
Keep your eyes wide open and don't think I just travelled though space. See does here look like Japan?
It feels like somewhere in Japan, but this place is actually the famous Monster Village. Thanks to a highly successful marketing campaign, visitors to the market street often feel like they’re stepping into a whole other world.
You must be careful walking around here, because monsters will come and scare you at any time!
Monster Village is full of surprises and novelties.
WA!
Let me introduce you, this is Kumar, and this is Badou!
Hi,How are you?
The food, drinks, and entertainment here are all eye-opening, while pop-up performances keep visitors hanging on every moment.
I just drew a number ball to ask the gods for advice.
I asked for… It’s a secret. If it is favorable the gods will knock the gong, but If it’s not he will knock the Temple block. So looking forward to it!
Yes! I knew it!
The allure of Monster Village is only enhanced come nighttime, when old-style lanterns cast a beguiling glow on its buildings. It’s a totally different feeling when you’re winding your way in and out of the shadows, discovering a new and different inspiration around every corner.
Xitou is fun place, when you get the chance you must come and experience what it has to offer.I am Poyu Lin, enjoy your time in Taiwan! Chow~see You next time.

[WHY HONG KONG HAS THE LONGEST LIFE EXPECTANCY?]
50.1 years. According to the World Health Organization, this is the average life expectancy in the country of Sierra Leone. As of now, one of the lowest in the world.
At the other end of the spectrum, we have countries like Italy, Iceland, Singapore and Switzerland all with an average life expectancy well into their 80’s. Now beating all those countries however, is (of course) Japan, topping the list at 83.7 years. (Note that the UN data is a little different). Regardless, this is the country with the longest average life expectancy.
But, this video is not about Japan, because there is a city with an even longer life expectancy.
This is Hong Kong, a city with over 7.4 million people living on about a thousand square kilometres of land. One of the most densely populated places on the planet - a fast paced city that never sleeps.
It’s a city of contradictions with towering buildings next to lush green mountains, street food stalls alongside McDonald’s & KFC’s, markets selling cheap counterfeits in front of designer stores, but the most surprising perhaps is the extremely long life expectancy of the people living in what is one of the most polluted cities in the world.
Hong Kong has an average life expectancy of 84.3 years.
Ironically enough, Hong Kong literally translates to ‘Fragrant Harbour’.
This video will cover:
- Hong Kong weather and climate
- Londons' Great Smog of 1952
- Geographical access to good food
- Cuisine / diet
- Accessibility of walkways and footpaths
- Fitness and habits
- Taichi & Qigong
- Environment
- WHO global network of age-friendly cities
- Hong Kong's healthcare system / primary care / hospital treatment
- Smoking
- Strong family ties
- Mahjong
- Retirement age
- Many older generation Hong Kongers were not boring in China, but in Mainland China
- China's Cultural Revolution

Our Favorite Hidden Lunch Spot in Kyushu!
Thanks so much to Bobby Judo for introducing me to this place many years ago! When Tatsu and I moved out of the city and into the countryside, we were at a loss for where to eat on days when we felt like treating ourselves to something nice, but luckily I remembered this precious gem that Bobby recommended to me, and we've been four times since. Haha.
Mitsuse Farm Herb Garden is a perfect stop along the drive between Fukuoka and Saga Prefecture, and the fresh mountain air is soothing on hot summer days. If you're visitng Japan by car, or just looking for a nice place outside of the busy city to relax and enjoy some serenity, this is the place for you!
