Never mind the kids, I had so much fun posing at the highly-Instagrammable Otah And Friends pop-up play house at SAFRA Punggol that I ended up spending more than 30 minutes inside! 😅 Everything is just so whimsical and colourful that I just couldn't help myself.

Yep, after a successful run at Gardens by the Bay, Otah & Friends has found a new home at SAFRA Punggol with new secrets to discover! Kids are given 45 minutes to locate Otah, Singapore’s fave otter, within his home which includes a living room, a kitchen and a backyard filled with cute interactive props. To be honest, finding Otah is a piece of cake BUT discovering the secret workings and playings (if there is such a word) of the house will be even more fun for the kids! Crawling through secret tunnels, finding secret mirrors, opening numerous cabinet doors and even peeping through pipes under the kitchen sink - it’s great for kids aged 12 years and below. Oh, and they get to complete an activity book and receive an Otah & Friends sticker too!

As for older kids like me, I will simply complete my IG-worthy photo collection, thank you very much. 😂 Otah & friends: Play Date is happening now at SAFRA Punggol (Atrium, Level 3) until 4 July 2021.

APRIL, MAY & JULY (Weekdays: 3pm - 9pm & Weekends: 9am - 9pm)
JUNE (Daily: 9am - 9pm)
Playtime: 45 minutes
Admission: $12 (SAFRA Member) | $15 (Guest)

*Parents must accompany their children aged 12 years & below. (Any parent who wish to accompany their child must purchase a ticket).

A Clean Body to Reflect a Clean Spirit

“Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19-20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

I have started to enjoy cleaning the house because I love how nice and spacious a room is after disposing of junk and wiping all the dust away.

Did you know that your body is a house? The apostle Peter calls it an “earthly tent” which we temporarily live in for this mortal lifetime.

Would you like it if your house is cluttered with junk and very dirty? I guess no one would like that if they could choose to have a clean house.

The junk in our flesh are the wrong beliefs that we hold on to. It’s good to throw out some junk each day and wash the dirty spots with the water of God’s word. Let the Gospel cleanse your mind until it shines like a freshly mopped floor, reflecting the glory of Christ.

Treat your body well too. Bathe properly, brush your teeth. Eat moderately, stay in shape through regular exercise for the apostle Paul says that physical exercise has some benefit.

When you know that your body is the temple of God, you will want to keep your body clean, beautiful, and set apart from the corruption that is in the world.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is very powerful. It has the power to cleanse you from the inside out. When you are conscious of how clean you are inside, you will want to be clean outside as well—in your soul and body.

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. If a righteous human president that you look up to announced that he was coming to stay at your house, wouldn’t you clean up the place and make it somewhere comfortable and befitting his status?

Well, the Holy Spirit is living inside your body, so make it a place that He is pleased to live in. Foul, corrupt speech and committing sexual immorality grieve Him. Imagine that you are making Him live in a trash dump when you do all that.

Receive the Gospel, be renewed in the spirit of your mind daily, and it will produce the desire and power to keep your soul and body clean. It’s a long-term project, so don’t rush—just be consistent. Hallelujah!

BUKAN KAMI TAK NAK BALIK RUMAH MAK

Selalunya mak di kampung paling seronok kalau waktu cuti sekolah atau perayaan sebab tak sabar nak tunggu anak cucu balik. Anak mak 10 orang semuanya. Semua pun dah kahwin, masing-masing dah ada anak. Kalau semua balik, memang penuh rumah mak tu.

Tapi, isteri si abang ngah selalu tak nak tidur di rumah mak. Selalu dia anak beranak akan ambil homestay yang berdekatan. Pagi raya baru mereka nampak muka. Sekali dua mak okay je, lama-lama kecil hati juga hati orang tua tu.

Masa abg ngah minum kopi dengan mak pagi tu barulah mak berani tanya. Abg ngah pun perlahan-lahan bersuara.

‘ kami suka sangat kalau balik sini mak, tapi itulah kalau semua ipar duai duduk berkumpul, isteri dan anak2 perempuan saya segan sikit mak nak ke sana sini, tambah-tambah lagi bilik air kat luar kan. Nak tidur kat ruang tamu lagi jadi susah sikit nak buka aurat. Kalau kat homestay mereka selesa sikit nak buka aurat’

‘Laaa, itu sebabnya. Mak faham sekarang, tapi kebetulan pula minggu lepas mak baru beli beberapa helai tuala saiz besar. Memang mak beli untuk kegunaan anak cucu yang balik ni’
‘Kalau anak isteri kamu ke bilik air, tak payah lagi bawa tudung, bawa tuala...bawa 1 tuala pun dah cukup nak tutup kepala sampai ke paras punggung’

‘Inshaa Allah selesai masalah tu, jadi bolehlah stay sini sampai malam pun kan’ senyum mak sambil merenung dalam ke mata abang ngah.

NOT THAT WE DON ' T WANT TO GO HOME TO MOM'S

Usually the mother in the village is the most fun during school holidays or festivities because I can't wait for my children and grandchildren All 10 kids. Everyone is married, everyone has a child. If everyone comes back, the mother's house will be full.

But, brother's wife always doesn't want to sleep at mom's house. Usually the children will take a nearby homestay. They only see their faces during Eid. Once or two mothers are okay, the old people's heart will be small too.

When I drink coffee with my mother that morning, then I will dare to ask. Brother Ngah is slowly speaking.

' we really like it when we come back here mom, but that's if all the in-laws sit together, my wife and daughter are so shy to go here, especially the bathroom out there.
