疫情下實體音樂活動取消，有人辦網上音樂節，有人實踐跨界協作，想要延續本地獨立音樂的力量，還有很多人在默默耕耘。
Joey和Aven，兩位年輕人分別於上年成立了一個分享音樂的小天地，一個是音樂介紹平台「9588」 @9588hk ，一個是Cassette帶網上小店「Findme.」 @findme_hk ，在本業以外經營心中所愛。兩位原本互不相識的年輕主理人，因著「一齊出mixtape」的隨心邀請，從虛擬走入實體，共同策劃了一個以安眠為主題的Cassette mixtape《HypnotiK 安眠藥》，連結14個本地獨立音樂單位，心願是推廣本地獨立音樂作品，也希望可以在社會氣氛繃緊的當下，用音樂慰藉大家未敢直視的心靈。
在香港失眠的原因有千百個。城市高壓如此，若連呼吸都無法專心，更遑論是睡一場覺，或是聽一首歌。插一餅帶，㩒一個掣，然後遂首播放，慢一拍的節奏，都是現今數碼音樂大行其道，讓心神慢下來的獨有體驗。這種慢，是香港人個性嗎？說到與Cassette的連結，新一代最先想起的，也許只是年少時自己幫自己默書。但如Aven所言，Cassette有其歷久不衰的魅力，有人喜歡時間浸淫出來的溫暖質感，有人則喜歡它的粗糙。當Cassette遇上迷幻曲風，更剛好呈現出歌曲的朦朧氣息。
14首本地獨立創作，曲風遊走於dream pop、R&B、Lo-Fi之間，分作Side A Side B，當中的高潮起迭，彷彿演繹了一天日常的喜怒哀愁。Playlist開首，有一改實驗性曲風、金巴利道路真理生命 @kimberleyroad 的《Nightfall》，帶領聽眾進入夜幕低垂的氣氛，中間插入Bedroom Party @bedroompartymusic 、The Hertz @thehertzofficial 及Yukilovey @yukilovey 等人較chill和upbeat的曲目，最後以Moon Tang @Moonstyles_ 與Lester Lam @lestereekee 聯手的《ZZZ 》 回歸平靜，準備進入睡眠狀態。兩位創作人期望mixtape不止「哄」你入睡，也藉著playlist的鋪排、歌曲裡的訊息，讓聽眾面對內心，經歷情緒的轉換，達致療癒。這些來自2019、2020年的創作之中，《路徑》@theabsentbrother 中的一句「原來天空那樣寬廣也無處可飛」，說出當下的悲傷無力；但一路聽下去，又會有人告訴你「Figure out someday, Even if you don't it’s okay」。
上年頭獨立音樂場地 TTN結業，也許成為了音樂有價的鐵證，觀眾務實的支持，始終是本地音樂產業走下去的最大養分。如Joey所言，觀察到大家的思想開始轉變，如今聽眾更願意用行動支持。也許Cassette熱潮來去如風，但最重要的是這些媒介讓本地創作百花齊放，用不同形式將聲音散播開去。做能做的事，靈活遊走不同方式，是我們一貫本領吧？
