Yayyyy!!! It’s World Ocean Day today :)))) We celebrate every 8 June as a reminder of how integral our seas are to life on Earth. Today is an opportunity to raise global awareness of the benefits humans get from the ocean and our individual and collective duty to use its resources sustainably.
La Mer Blue Heart commits to helping protect marine habitats across the globe, in hopes to ensure future flourishing seas for generations to come. Through Oceans Fund supporting ocean conservation efforts around the world to La Mer’s main ingredient -Sea kelp, is sustainably hand harvested!!
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, when will we be able to travel again? The short answer is nobody knows for sure. No beach vacation? No worries
We can also support this moment of ocean peace and health from inside our homes. We can make small actions and sustainable decisions that can change the destiny of our ocean. This period of time when we are indoors can be the seed of change to protect the great big blue universe that we all love and that we all need to survive

-Conserve water

-Time to reuse what you have
-Recycling is the right thing to do
-Grow your own veggie
-Consider a more plant based diet

-Communicate your love for the ocean!
-Volunteer-define it however you want, the only part that matters is putting in the time to show your support, even raising awareness through art created from debris, it all plays into a larger role of protecting our ocean!

This is the second collaborative piece between artist, conservationist and musician Note Panayanggool and Digital Artist Cyrus James Khan. Further exploring abstract twilight realms and integrating surreal coral structures taken from Note's original mix-media work. Behind the structure resides one of Cyrus's classic rectangular gateways as shown in his previous Portal series. The scene was rendered via an unbiased graphic engine.
Eighty percent of the initial sale for this piece will be going directly to the Terracycle Thai Foundation, in order to support sustainability initiatives regarding river and ocean cleanups. Follow @notep and @terracyclethaifoundation on Instagram to follow the process.

Azmi and I recently took part in the Downbelow x Rip Curl Marine Conservation Program 2017: a joint event between Downbelow Marine & Wildlife Adventures and Rip Curl Malaysia with the objective to raise awareness, educate, and encourage action towards the global problem of marine debris and the importance of preserving our coral reefs.
This event was fully sponsored by the Downbelow & Rip Curl partnership and was held on the 19th of November, 2017 at Downbelow PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, Sabah Borneo. We were amongst the 100 participants who took part in this marine conservation activity on-site and BOY! Did we have fun!
Anybody can be an ocean hero irrespective of whether you are a scuba diver, snorkeler or non-swimmer, all you need to take part is a desire to make a difference. Marine conservation activities are fun and a heroes way of life is rewarding !
ALL proceeds went to AWARE Project as well as the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Kota Kinabalu (SPCAKK). I LOVE my furry animals, so this struck a chord with me and I will be working closer with SPCAKK to encourage more folks to choose to adopt than to buy a new pet from the store.
