🌟 Advice for beginner lifters
.
🔑 I get it, your fired up, you’re feeling motivated and you want to smash the weights room and get heading towards your goals. However there a few key things to consider before you dive straight in and get lost along the way.
.
🏋🏼♂️ First of, you need to learn the correct movements and techniques. Locking down the form of various movements.
.
⛹🏼♀️ If you have good body awareness and have a good sporting background for example, this should be a pretty easy task. However on the other end of the spectrum, if you body awareness is low it may take a bit longer.
.
📊 Now this might seem boring when all you want to do is lift some weights. However if you aren't performing the movements correctly and the right muscles aren't firing during the movement then you will soon hit a plateau.
.
🙅🏼♂️ Once this is all learnt and you feel comfortable with the movements then it is important to not start ego lifting and undoing that developed form. Ease into it and gradually add more weight over time. More weight doesn't necessarily mean better results, particularly if that added weight leads to a break down in form.
.
📖 Having a plan in place before going to the gym is definitely a great idea. Otherwise it’s very easy to get lost and just jump around from exercise to exercise with no structure. As a general rule of thumb, big compound movements first, followed by more isolation work later in the workout.
.
✋🏼 The gym can be an intimidating place, we’ve all been there, you fear people are judging you and watching you lift out. Honestly, don’t stress, most people are so wrapped up in their own workout, they wont notice what exercises you are doing and what weights you are lifting.
.
📅 Try and stay consistent with it, results take time, enjoy the process and don’t just chase the results.

Many of us try to grow "BIGGER" as in gain some muscle mass and look all buffed and stuff, but how many try to be "BETTER? More of a quality gain of muscles.

How?? Read below.

Monitor composition and fat percentage- once few week or so, try to check up on your your "GAINS" , you can use body fat analyser ( the kind of weighing machine celebrityfitness has) or you can roughly estimate if you are gaining more fat or muscle. Then work accordingly. .
Monitor your condition- be aware of your self note if your posture is on point whether you have any imbalances or if you are very dominant on one side ( left stronger than right etc etc)
.
Macro and micro nutrition check- be on a calories surplus just because your are growing doesn't meant you can eat just anything , although when you are growing you can be more flexible than during your fatloss but still, monitor the quality and the quantity of your food. Make sure your food is rich with vitamins and make sure its doing good to your body.
.
Workout quality- Just because you see some fancy fitness enthusiast doing some weird exercise doesn't mean you have to do it too. Sometime you can do it or not ready yet and then you end up disturbing your body condition or even cause injuries.Focus on your compound lifts do what you can and progress from there.
.
Monitor workout progress- Speaking of your workout, always plan before hand ..record your progress and you must progress. Be better by the week, have a good program make sure you are not doing the same easy stuff.
Progression can be made not only in weights, but also your repetition , rest times, and anything that can challenge you

30-Minute Upper Body & Abs Compound Circuit (Sculpt & Tone) | Joanna Soh
I've been struggling to tone up my upper body, as it tends to hold on to lots of stubborn fats. But I've seen great results with this workout. This is a strength endurance workout with COMPOUND exercises targeting the UPPER BODY and ABS. You’ll need a pair of medium weight dumbbells.
Not only will these moves increase your overall strength and endurance, but they’ll create a more symmetrical build, and improve your core strength for everyday functional fitness.

30-Minute Strength & Sculpt Fat Burning Circuit (Burn 300Cals!) | Joanna Soh
This "Strength & Sculpt" class shifts your body into high gear through an intense muscle endurance and strength workout. It is a low-impact workout that uses dumbbells to condition and sculpt the entire body. We’ll start with compound exercises followed by upper body and end with core/ab exercises. It will boost your metabolism, increase lean muscle, burn fat and tone your body!
Duration: 30 minutes
Workout Interval: 3 circuits, 4 exercises each repeated twice.
Estimated Calories Burned: 220 - 350 Cals
Equipments: A pair of medium-weight dumbbells, 3 - 5kgs and a pair of light weight dumbbells, 1 - 2kgs. (You can also improvise by using water bottles, or canned goods in place of the weights!)
