Inspired by the Kojiki, the oldest book of Japanese history, which tells us about our roots, artist Daoko will lead us to question the importance of a deep appreciation of Japan's unique culture and nature in today's technologically advanced society. The "Musuhi", the trigger for everything to be born and develop, will be launched from this "Musuhi Musubi" exhibition.

The picture of the rocky beach with waves is Ame-no-zume
And the picture of the profile with hair ornaments is Amaterasu Omikami.
We made this picture with the motif of the Yatagarasu. (Many-clawed crow) ☀️

Inspiriert vom Kojiki, dem ältesten Buch der japanischen Geschichte, das uns von unseren Wurzeln erzählt, führt uns die Künstlerin Daoko dazu, die Bedeutung einer tiefen Wertschätzung der einzigartigen Kultur und Natur Japans in der heutigen technologisch fortschrittlichen Gesellschaft zu hinterfragen. Der "Musuhi", der Auslöser für alles, was geboren und entwickelt wird, wird von dieser "Musuhi Musubi"-Ausstellung aus gestartet.

Das Bild des felsigen Strandes mit Wellen ist Ame-no-zume
Und das Bild des Profils mit Haarschmuck ist Amaterasu Omikami.
Dieses Bild haben wir mit dem Motive von Yatagarasu (vielklauige Krähe) gemacht.☀️

In 1975, the fictional beach town of Amity and cinema audiences the world over were terrorized by a tactically astute great white shark. While films like JAWS often do well at the box office, their legacy is to cast the planet's shark species as dangerous predators that prey on humans. This image is highly misleading , says Andy Cornish, leader of the World Wildlife Fund’s ‘Sharks: Restoring the Balance’ conservation programme.

Sharks evolved more than 400 million years ago and continue to thrive. These ancient creatures have outlived the dinosaurs and play a key role in maintaining marine ecosystems. Human activity poses a much greater danger to sharks than they do to us, and it is pushing more species towards the endangered list - or extinction.

Around 507 species of sharks are recorded, and only 11 of those are known to have ever caused human fatalities – less than 2% of the total. Even when fatalities do happen, generally it’s a case of mistaken identity. Sharks very rarely eat their human prey, instead they typically swim away.

“The ocean’s upper surface receives the most sunlight, which enables phytoplankton – the engines of marine ecosystems – to thrive, but these shallow waters are nutrient poor,” says Cornish. “When sharks, rays and marine mammals like whales dive to feed on animals in deeper waters, they return carrying essential nutrients, which they excrete and help make shallower waters more productive.” With 500 plus species, sharks don’t just dwell in the ocean, they help shape it.

海外の映画なんかで警察のサイレンが鳴った時に思い浮かべる車って…あぁあんな感じ、って予測ができますよね。それでは、どうしてアメリカのパトカーが白と黒で塗られているのか、疑問に思った事はありませんか？国によって色は異なりますが、それぞれきちんと意味があるんです。

まずは、アメリカとカナダ。北米で初めてパトカーが登場したのは1900年代初頭。ほぼ全ての自動車が黒く塗られていて、警察も例外ではありませんでした。塗料が注目を浴び始めた時、米国中のほとんどの当局はパトカーが一目で認識できるようにする事が賢明だと考えました。だからこそ、象徴的でお手頃な価格の色でもある、白と黒を取り入れたんです。

―モノクロのデザインは非常に効率的である事が判明しました。人々もすぐにパトカーを他の車から判別できるようになりました。もちろん警部や秘密捜査官が使う場合、少し色を変えるのもそう難しくはありませんでした。

―そしてビニールを使った手法が可能になると、車を好きな色で塗る事が簡単になりました。

―もともとヨーロッパとイギリスのほとんどのパトカーは白で、黒、青、赤のいずれかのマークが付いていました。

―ただしこれも、1900年代の革命をきっかけに代わりました。バッテンベルクのマークが登場します。これは英国で開発され、ケーキにちなんで名付けられたこの独特なパターンで、イギリス、オーストラリア、そしてヨーロッパのパトカーの標準となりました。

―この模様には二つの異なる色が正方形の形で交互に入り、チェスボードのようなデザインをしています。

―思い切ってデザインを新しくした理由はとても簡単。緊急サービスが目立つようにしたいという想いから。

―緊急サービスの車以外のこのデザインは認められていないので車が多い場所でも目立ちます。

―例えば、チェコ共和国のほとんどのパトカーは車の側面の底に沿ってストライプが入っていて、大変目立つものとなっています。

―反射したストライプが車の下の方にあるだけでもより分かりやすく、目立ちます。

―存在感のあるパトカーと言えばドバイも欠かせません。裕福なこの都市の警察は、世界で最も高価な車を所有しています。

―ドバイは世界の中で最も裕福な都市だとイメージしている人が多いですが、それはランボルギーニやフェラーリのおかげなんです。

―パトカーは一般車よりも強力です。世界中で、政府はパトカーを特別に注文しています。

―普通の車でもパトカーを追い越す事はできますが、それでも犯人を捕まえるのに成功するのにはある理由があります。それは、コミュニケーション。これが、パトカーの唯一の利点です。
